Travel – Some travel essentials rarely mentioned

None of these take up any real room, but are great for saving the day:

Shoe inserts, take two pairs, well worth it
Band aids for blisters
Duct tape, especially if traveling via backpack, not a whole roll,
but save the end of one
Zip lock bags, great for protecting items like phones in the rain, you can even use through the plastic and f
taking leftover food, receipts, train schedules
Safety Pins, yes, duh
Reading glasses even if you don’t use them yet, they will come in handy for map reading (if they have a built in light, all the better, works as a flashlight, or for reading in a hostel room)
Mini flashlight, like the kind on a keychain, power outage necessity
Baby wipes in the travel pack, cools you down, you can wet with water and reuse
Business cards with email, sometimes you want to exchange info, but have no paper, this works great, you can just print out at home
List of important emails and numbers, phones can die or get lost, sound obvious, but you would be surprised
Watch and compass, they are just fun
Highlighter
Extra Shoelaces
Rubber Bands
Small jar Vaseline, its like duct tape, you never know
